CP Gurnani is the CEO and the Managing Director of Tech Mahindra. CP played a pivotal role in the transformational journey of Mahindra Satyam and spearheaded the company’s eventual merger with Tech Mahindra.
With extensive experience in international business development, start-ups and turnarounds, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, CP in many ways led Tech Mahindra's journey, where he contributed significantly to the company's strategy and philosophy. His inimitable style of leadership, combined with his sharp focus on customer experience, helped Mahindra Satyam and Tech Mahindra emerge as one of the leading providers in their respective competencies - IT Services and Telecom Solutions to the global telecom ecosystem.
In a career spanning 32 years, he has held several leading positions with HCL Hewlett Packard Limited, Perot Systems (India) Limited and HCL Corporation Ltd. He is a chemical engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.
It is interesting how fancy it has become to talk of the VUCA world (Volatile, Uncertain, complex & Ambiguous).  We did an #ihrchat on this long before the term got tossed around to impress. However what would be immensely more useful is to figure out what strategies are needed to negotiate the winds of change that have become so commonplace. Everything from volcanic ash to an unexpected terror attack can bring an entire nation to a standstill. So how does one manage through crisis situations and equally important periods of change that may not be that intense but need navigation all the same?
How well equipped are we as leaders, managers, HR professionals to be able to step away from the regular and routine to handle the unexpected and the transitional demands on our capabilities? What have we learnt from navigating such situations that ought to be shared to build our collective resilience? Is there a way for us to be in a perpetual state of readiness for changes or crisis from situations that we are not able to predict?
This month we are honored to welcome  Mr. C.P. Gurnani, CEO & MD of Tech Mahindra to the community.He has played a pivotal role in the three-year transformational journey of Mahindra Satyam and spearheaded the company’s eventual merger with Tech Mahindra. An accomplished business leader with extensive experience in international business development, start-ups and turnarounds, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, CP in many ways led Tech Mahindra's transformation journey, where he contributed significantly to the company's strategy and philosophy. Amongst his many awards is the CNBC Asia India Business Leader of the Year Award 2014.
As we launch into our third year as Asia's first trending chat for leaders and HR professionals, it is inspiring to see leaders such as C.P Gurnani setting an example for the next generation of social CEOs- always willing to engage and learn with the communities such as #ihrchat. Indeed the Mahindra group with Mr. Anand Mahindra at the top seems to be certainly setting the trend for leadership that is ready to embrace the social era.
